An existing double-fronted timber workers cottage was partially retained and reconfigured as part of a dual-residence subdivision. The project delivered two three-storey townhouses, each comprising three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a powder room, with front and rear decks and individual car parking.

The existing structure was upgraded to incorporate a new rear timber deck, along with a butler’s pantry, laundry and powder room connected to the original kitchen. A concealed powder room is integrated within the laundry cabinetry, requiring tight coordination of joinery and services.

A key external element is the pergola structure, constructed from 200 x 200 millimetre red gum and ironbark posts and clad with 50 x 50 millimetre ironbark battens. Designed by Richard Kerr, the project was completed within nine months. Project photography to follow.
